Trying to improve your home décor without replacing all your furniture? Check out our creative and easy ideas for a coastal theme that will make your living space more stylish and appealing through some fun and easy changes. Ocean-inspired décor is trendy, and it’s not difficult to freshen up your dining room with nautical flair, especially when you dress it up with glass at the same time.
Here are some small changes that can give your dining room a whole new look and feel.
• Add a clear glass tabletop to dress up the surface of your dining table. Adorn it with woven straw placements and create a centerpiece with two tapers in fancy brasscandle sticks and a white ceramic bowl filled with seasonal fruit. If you want to go all out, include white cloth napkins in starfish rings.
• Turn a bare wall into the room’s focal point with a few small additions. Have a glass shelf hung using ornate metal brackets, and then add a framed mirror above it and fill the shelf with seaside curios. Possibilities include shells collected on family trips to a beach house, a model ship from your local flea market, vintage glass bottles, nautical knick knacks from a department store, dollar store, or thrift store.
• Purchase a sideboard and use the interior as handy storage space for anything from dishes to art supplies! Fill the top with beach themed serving ware. You can find everything from platters shaped like fish to bowls in the form of clamshells to dishes with sail boats painted on them. An eclectic assortment like this is reminiscent of a beach house and the relaxation it inspires.

For one thing, even if we aren’t ruled by trends they can still subtly impact what we think looks good, so knowing what styles are popular can help ensure that you’ll remain satisfied with your renovated bathroom. Additionally, an awareness of what’s trending can give us direction in decisions that might otherwise be completely random – i.e. clear versus frosted glass shower enclosure. Finally, keeping your bathroom design up to date is a savvy move just in case you should decide to sell the home.

Rooms that Feature One Time Period Are Going Out of Style
If you want an antique or antique style sofa, this no longer means that the rest of the room needs to be adorned with items of the same kind. Period-piece type rooms are on their way out as 2017 trends favor a harmonious meld of furnishings from different eras. This dynamic is true of homes as well, as the idea that the furnishings of a whole house should align with one time period has been left by the wayside.

When you do an internet search for home renovation tips in 2017, you might find ideas about color schemes, trending patterns, and money saving tactics, but nothing about communication. However, good communication skills are vital for most homeowners undertaking a renovation. Why? Well, the breakdown in communication with other household members can lead to not only tension and drama, but costly alterations in the near future. However, even homeowners who live alone will need communication skills in order to clearly impart their wishes to businesses and contractors. So unless you both live on your own and plan to do all the remodeling by yourself, it is important to fine tune your communication techniques to ensure the success of your venture!

Glass shower doors have to be dried after each use, fact or fiction? This is actually a fact in many cases, but it may not have to be. If you order ShowerGuard glass or have your new shower enclosure treated with long-lasting EnduroShield, you may be able to forego drying the glass after each shower. Unless the water in your area is very problematic – high silica content, for instance – you’ll likely be able to get the squeegee out of your bathroom.
A glass enclosure seals up like an aquarium, fact or fiction? We probably all wish this were true, but it is not. While a quality custom shower door will seal up well and provide a trustworthy barrier to water droplets, it is not a big glass aquarium. Always avoid placing shower jets where they will spray at a seam or gap in the enclosure. In fact, correct placement of all shower sprays is one of the many elements necessary for successfully designing a custom shower stall.
