Bathroom Cleaning Checklist

Shower Door Handles

Getting ready for guests? Cleaning before going on vacation? Use this handy bathroom cleaning checklist to get the job done thoroughly and efficiently.

Sink & Vanity


    1. Remove all items from the vanity counter.
    2. Clean the faucet, paying special attention to the space between the back of the faucet and the backsplash.
    3. Scrub the sink basin and make sure to get any residue that has built up around the drain.
    4. Wipe down the vanity counter and backsplash.Dry all surfaces and return your items to their places on the vanity counter.
    5. Dust the vanity including cupboard doors, door handles, and decorative trim.

 

 Vanity Mirrors


Clean the faucet, paying special attention to the space between the back of the faucet and the backsplash.

Wipe down the vanity counter and backsplash.Dry all surfaces and return your items to their places on the vanity counter.
Dust the vanity including cupboard doors, door handles, and decorative trim.

Commode

•  Remove any items from the commode – seat cover, box of tissues on the tank lid, etc.
•  Lift the seat and scrub the inside using a toilet bowl brush and appropriate cleaning agent.
•  Wipe down and sanitize other surfaces of the toilet.
•  Dry all exterior surfaces and put items back in their places if applicable.

Tub

•  Remove items from tub area.
•  Scrub the tub with an approved product, removing all soap scum.
•  Rinse thoroughly and dry.
•  Replace items.

Glass Shower Enclosures

 

Glass Shower Doors 

 

•  Remove all items from the shower enclosure.
•  Clean the walls and floor tile as well as the grout between the individual tiles.
•  Clean any glass shelves or other storage units in the shower stall.
•  Wipe down the faucet and other hardware, being sure to follow manufacturer instructions for approved cleaning agents.
•  Clean both sides of the glass using an approved cleaner and soft rag or sponge.
•  Carefully clean any nooks and crannies, such as spaces where glass and metal meet.
•  Dry all surfaces and return items to their places.

Vanity Wall Mirrors

 

Wall Mirrors 

 

•  Apply an approved glass cleaner or natural cleaning agent to the mirrors.
•  Scrub with a soft cloth or paper towel, making sure to remove streaks and moisture.
•  If it is a framed mirror, dust the frame thoroughly.

Other Items to Wipe Down and/or Dust

•  Light fixtures.
•  Light switches.
•  Trim and molding.
•  Towel bars, paper holders, robe hooks, etc.
•  Bathroom door and door knob.

Floor

•  Take everything off the floor; empty the trash can; put in a new trash bag.
•  Vacuum or sweep the floor.
•  Mop the floor or wipe it down with sanitizing wipes.
•  Rinse if needed and dry.
